Job Description

Our client is a pharmacy retail chain. In order to support rapid and aggressive expansion throughout Malaysia, our client is looking for a talented and dynamic professional to join them as the Retail Pharmacist. As the Retail Pharmacist, your role would be vital in preparing and distributing medication to customers, as well as advising them on the proper usage of the medications. You are also responsible for providing the proper dosages and medicine to customers according to the prescription.

Job Responsibilities

• Providing professional consultation and counselling to customers.
• Handling the dispensing of medication according to the proper dosage and prescription.
• Receives prescriptions, checks customers\' medicine histories, and ensures optimal dosage and methods of administration and drug compatibility before dispensing.
• Prepares or supervises the preparation and labelling of liquid medicines, ointments, powders, tablets and other medications to fill prescriptions.
• Advise customers on drug incompatibility and contra-indications.
• Maintain prescription files and records issue of narcotics, poisons and habit-forming drugs.
• Keep track of the medication\'s stocks and inventories.
• Work closely and co-ordinate with the Branch Manager, Nutritionist, and Pharmacy Assistant to ensure the daily retail operations run smoothly.
• Assist in the training, supervising and monitoring of sales performance and service of the Pharmacy Sales Assistants.
• Maintain good teamwork and communication with branch manager, nutritionist and pharmacy assistant to ensure smooth and effective daily retail operation.
• Assist in basic management and building of team, and to conduct training and assessing the performance of the team.
• Maintain constant communication with HQ and other branches.

Job Requirements

• Must possess a Bachelor\'s Degree / Master\'s Degree in Pharmacy / Pharmacology.
• Must be a registered pharmacist with Malaysia\'s Pharmacy Board.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical laws and regulations.
• Experience in pharmacy management, inventory control and purchasing will be an added advantage.
• Strong language proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in other languages and dialects would be an added advantage.
• Able to communicate well with customers and always prioritize medication safety.
• Continuous learning and keeping up with latest medical knowledge.
• Flexible on working schedules and willing to work on selected weekends and public holidays.
• Candidates without retail experience are encouraged to apply as training will be provided.
• Provisionally Registered Pharmacists are welcomed to apply.
