Job Description

Job Summary:



The Safety & Health Officer (SHO) is responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements at the data centre construction site. The SHO ensures full compliance with DOSH regulations, the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), CIDB requirements, and the company's QSHE Management System. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel in a complex, high-risk, MEP-intensive project environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Implement and monitor all SHE policies in accordance with Malaysian laws (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, CIDB Act, DOSH requirements). Enforce compliance with the company's QSHE Management System and project-specific safety requirements. Issue Stop Work Orders or Safety Improvement Notices for any unsafe practices. Ensure all high-risk activities (e.g., electrical works, heavy LME installation, hot works, working at height, confined space, crane lifting) follow approved method statements and risk assessments. Conduct daily site safety inspections, housekeeping checks, and compliance walkthroughs. Perform internal safety audits and support external DOSH/CIDB inspections. Verify PPE compliance and ensure all contractors adhere to safety standards. Lead investigations for accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Prepare incident reports, identify root causes, and propose corrective/preventive actions. Track closure of corrective actions with relevant departments and contractors.

Qualifications and Requirements:



Minimum

Diploma/Degree

in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book Holder)

with DOSH -

mandatory*.
Minimum

5 years of experience

in construction safety, with at least

2 years in M&E-heavy or data centre/infrastructure projects

preferred. Strong understanding of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, UBBL, and DOSH regulations. Competent in risk assessment, incident investigation, safety audit, and hazard identification. Familiar with data centre mechanical and electrical systems and associated hazards. Excellent coordination skills with ability to manage multiple subcontractors. Proactive in enforcing safety and driving a strong safety culture.
