About the job Safety / HSE Engineer
Position Summary
The Safety/HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continually improving health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure safe operations, compliance with regulatory requirements, and protection of people, assets, and the environment. The role provides HSE governance, advisory, as well as ensuring contractor HSE management and site-level compliance across projects.
Job Qualifications

• Provide overall HSE, Technical Integrity and Process Safety (TIPS) governance, advisory, and support in the implementation of organizational safety programs, particularly for safe execution of well operations and integrity management programs.
• Ensure effective planning and implementation of all HSE initiatives in compliance with HSEMS, Mandatory Control Framework (MCF), client standards, and local statutory requirements.
• Lead contractor HSE management processes, including compliance monitoring, audits, and performance reviews.
• Develop, review, and maintain HSE documents, procedures, and training materials to strengthen safety awareness and competency.
• Conduct internal safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to promote a positive HSE culture.
• Support incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action follow-up to ensure continual improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH (preferred).
• Minimum 5 - 8 years of HSE experience in oil & gas, construction or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of HSEMS, MCF, OSHA 1994, and other relevant local and international safety regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in contractor HSE management, incident investigation, and safety training.
• Good communication, leadership, and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid offshore survival, medical, and safety certifications (for oil & gas assignments).
