Safety Officer
Responsibilities:
Advise and update the Company on workplace safety measures and new regulatory requirements.
Organize, implement, and prepare reports for all safety and health requirements.
Drive continual process improvements and provide SHE support to operations.
Assist the Company or the Safety & Health Committee in organizing and implementing occupational safety and health programmes.
Monitor workplace activities to ensure employees, contractors, and vendors comply with Company policies and statutory safety requirements.
Coordinate inspections by regulatory agencies and ensure any deficiencies are minimized and promptly rectified.
Conduct inspections, collect, analyze, and maintain statistics on unsafe conditions, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and occupational illnesses, and submit reports as required by law.
Ensure all equipment and machinery comply with safety standards and are safe for use.
Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance of Company buildings and asset machinery.
Oversee yearly renewals of Company machinery and/or assets with the relevant authorities.
Assist the Company in meeting OSHA and other regulatory requirements, promoting safe workplace conduct.
Support any officer or person in charge on matters related to workplace safety and health.
Assist the Safety & Health Committee in workplace inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented safety measures.
Coordinate with HODs/Managers on facility deficiencies, monthly safety inspections, training, and briefings.
Maintain Site Preparedness and Emergency Response Procedures.
Maintain filing and documentation for worker training and SHE-related matters.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Company.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of local safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent)
is compulsory
.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
Proficient in MS Office and other relevant applications.
High attention to detail with a proactive and preventive approach.
Possess own transport.

Self-motivated, dynamic, and result-oriented team player.
Organized, independent, and equipped with strong analytical skills.
Able to report and communicate effectively with superiors.
