Key Responsibilities

Pre-Opening & Setup

Develop and implement hotel security and safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and local authorities on fire safety, occupational health, and security system installations. Conduct pre-opening risk assessments and establish security control systems (CCTV, access control, fire detection). Train and prepare the security team for opening operations.

Operations & Risk Management

Lead the Security team to ensure effective coverage across all hotel areas. Monitor and maintain all security systems, including surveillance, alarms, and access control. Conduct investigations into incidents, accidents, or guest complaints related to safety and security. Liaise with local police, fire department, and regulatory authorities as needed. Ensure occupational safety standards are met, including fire drills and workplace safety audits.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure full compliance with Malaysian laws, regulations, and brand standards. Prepare incident reports, safety audits, and risk assessments for management review. Coordinate with Human Resources and Training on safety awareness programs for employees. Manage documentation for insurance claims and legal compliance.

People & Training

Recruit, train, and supervise security personnel. Conduct regular drills, safety briefings, and refresher training for all staff. Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management.

Requirements

Minimum 5-7 years' experience in safety & security management, preferably in hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of Malaysian security regulations, fire safety, and workplace safety compliance. Experience in hotel pre-opening or new property setup is an advantage. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and crisis management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to deal with guests, staff, and external authorities. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays, when required.
