Position Title - Sales Assistant - Gold Shop

Department - Retail / Jewelry Sales

Reporting Line - Reports to: Shop Manager / Operation Manager

Purpose of Role

To provide excellent customer service, ensure accurate handling of gold and jewelry products, and support sales operations while maintaining strict compliance with security and company SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

Greet customers and provide product knowledge on gold, jewelry, and investment items. Assist in selecting products, explain pricing, weight, and certification details. Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.

Sales & Transactions

Achieve daily/weekly sales targets. Process transactions accurately (cash, card, e?wallet, installment plans). Issue receipts and certificates of authenticity.

Inventory & Security

Conduct daily stock counts and reconcile with system records. Follow SOPs for safe handling, storage, and display of gold/jewelry. Report discrepancies, damages, or theft immediately.

Compliance

Adhere to anti?money laundering (AML) and KYC procedures for high?value purchases. Follow Employment Act and the company's HR policies. Maintain confidentiality of customer and company data.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum SPM / Diploma in Business, Marketing, or related field Prior retail or jewelry sales experience preferred Strong communication skills (multilingual advantage: BM, English, Tamil, Mandarin) Attention to detail, integrity, and trustworthiness Knowledge of gold purity, weight measurement, and valuation is an advantage

Working Conditions

Retail hours, including weekends and public holidays (shift?based) Standing for extended periods Uniform and grooming compliance required

Provide induction training on gold handling and security SOPs Monitor probation performance via KPI checklist Conduct quarterly refresher training on AML/KYC compliance Benchmark compensation against jewelry retail industry standards
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,300.00 per month
