Job Description

Position Overview



The Sales Designer is a performance-driven role focused primarily on

bringing in new clients, generating revenue, and closing renovation/design projects

. While basic design knowledge is required, the key responsibility is to

convert leads into confirmed sales

through strong consultation, persuasive presentation, and excellent client handling.

This role suits someone who is highly motivated, target-oriented, and confident in selling interior design and renovation solutions.

Key Responsibilities



1. Lead Generation & Sales Acquisition (Primary Role)



Actively follow up on inbound leads from WhatsApp, phone, social media, and referrals. Conduct proactive outreach to warm leads and past enquiries. Attend on-site consultations to understand client needs and assess project potential. Build a strong sales pipeline by consistently sourcing new opportunities. Identify high-potential clients and prioritize them to maximize closing rates.

2. Sales Presentation & Closing



Present design concepts, renovation solutions, and cost breakdowns confidently. Provide professional recommendations that match client needs and budgets. Prepare precise quotations with clear scope of work to avoid price disputes. Handle objections effectively and negotiate for higher package upgrades. Achieve monthly sales targets by converting leads into secured projects. Ensure deposit collection and proper documentation upon closing deals.

3. Basic Design Guidance (Secondary Role)



(Minimal design tasks--mainly for sales support)

Provide initial space planning, conceptual sketches, or mood board ideas. Coordinate with the design team for 3D drawings and detailed plans. Understand feasibility of renovation works to avoid over-promising.

4. Customer Handling & Follow-Up



Maintain strong communication from enquiry until project confirmation. Build trust and rapport to increase chances of closing and referrals. Follow up consistently with undecided prospects using structured follow-up methods. Provide timely updates to ensure clients remain confident in the sale process.

5. Coordination With Internal Teams



Brief designers and project team on client requirements after a sale is closed. Ensure the final design aligns with what was sold to avoid variation issues. Support the project team only when necessary (handover briefing / clarification).

Skills & Requirements Essential Skills



Strong closing ability with proven sales track record Confident, persuasive, and excellent at handling client concerns Good communication and interpersonal skills Basic knowledge of interior design, space planning, materials, and renovation processes Ability to produce simple design proposals (with designer support)

Requirements



1-3 years of experience in sales (preferably renovation/interior design) Possess own transport for client meetings and site visits Highly motivated, disciplined, and target-driven Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia & English (Mandarin is a plus)
