ROLE OVERVIEW
The Sales & Events Manager is responsible for driving new and incremental business for events through proactive and reactive sales initiatives. This role includes developing strategies to optimize business, achieving revenue targets, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The manager will collaborate closely with marketing and branding teams to promote ELSE Event Venues, ensuring key messages foster loyalty and engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Business Development
Proactively identify, qualify, and convert leads into confirmed event bookings.
Target and engage potential clients across key segments, including corporate, social, and residential groups.
Conduct outbound sales activities, including cold calling, networking, client entertaining, and attending industry events.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and surpass event revenue objectives.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate decision-makers, event agencies, wedding planners, destination management companies (DMCs), and individual clients for social events.
Represent ELSE Kuala Lumpur at trade shows, networking functions, and industry forums to broaden market presence.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to continually refine sales strategies.
Client Acquisition & Negotiation
Deliver persuasive sales presentations and conduct site inspections to highlight ELSE's event venues.
Tailor proposals to client requirements, emphasizing unique selling points.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure bookings while maximizing profitability.
Partner with the Director of Sales to strategize and optimize sales initiatives.
Handover & Internal Collaboration
Ensure smooth transition of events to the event planning team after confirmation.
Collaborate with internal departments (Marketing, Food & Beverage, Front Office) to guarantee seamless execution.
Maintain strong communication with the event planning team to ensure client expectations are consistently met.
Sales Reporting & Performance Tracking
Monitor sales activity, lead conversions, and revenue performance against targets.
Prepare detailed sales reports and market insights for management review.
Maintain an up-to-date CRM with client interactions, follow-ups, and relevant data.
Additional Responsibilities
Develop an annual events sales and marketing budget informed by market trends, seasonal demand, and internal cost structures.
Maintain a comprehensive events calendar of all hotel activities.
Actively seek collaborations with local businesses to expand the use of venue spaces.
Lead post-event evaluations to capture learnings and inform future improvements.
Partner with the Marketing team to devise and execute annual promotional campaigns for event venues, including social media, content creation, advertising, PR, and CRM initiatives.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to close high-value deals.
Established network within corporate, events, or hospitality sectors is an advantage.
Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and driven to exceed sales targets.
Innovative, creative, and inquisitive mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; knowledge of Cava design software is a plus.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sales & Events Manager; hotel experience is preferred.
