Job Description

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing key client relationships within the renewable energy industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of sales strategies and market trends in renewable energy solutions.

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet company targets across both B2B and B2C segments, covering rooftop, ground-mounted, hybrid, and off-grid solar PV solutions.
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with commercial, industrial, and government clients, driving growth in the solar PV market.
  • Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, including pricing strategies and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with client needs and company objectives.
  • Monitor and manage the sales pipeline, providing accurate revenue forecasts through CRM tools and ensuring timely follow-ups and conversions.
  • Work closely with project and engineering teams to ensure seamless handover from sales to execution, maintaining project integrity and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within Malaysia's solar and renewable energy landscape.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, EPC partners, energy consultants, and regulatory authorities such as SEDA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, and TNB.
  • Represent the company at industry exhibitions, networking events, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and foster strategic partnerships.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales executives or business development officers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Develop and manage sales budgets, revenue forecasts, and profitability targets. Collaborate with finance to structure competitive pricing models and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) terms.
  • Monitor project margins and ensure alignment with the company's commercial goals and strategic direction.

A successful Sales Manager should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in the solar, renewable energy, or power sector.
  • Proven track record in securing large-scale or commercial solar projects (EPC, leasing, or PPA model).
  • Experience working with industrial clients, developers, or government-linked projects preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the Malaysian solar market and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
