Job Summary:
The Sales Operations Coordinator in the steel industry is responsible for managing sales operations, supporting the sales team, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The role involves processing orders, preparing quotations, and overseeing delivery logistics to ensure timely and efficient fulfillment of customer requirements. A strong understanding of steel products and supply chain coordination is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
Respond to customer inquiries regarding steel products, grades, specifications, and pricing.
Quotation and Order Management:
Process customer orders, verifying specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines.
Delivery Logistics Coordination:
Communicate delivery schedules and updates to customers and internal teams.
Sales Support:
Maintain up-to-date customer records, price lists, and sales reports.
Coordination and Communication:
Serve as the central point of contact between customers, the sales team, and internal departments, including production and logistics.
Administrative Duties:
Assist in preparing tender documents and project-specific quotations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Minimum SPM and / or diploma in supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of steel materials and logistics operations is highly advantageous.
Experience:
At least 1 year in sales, customer service, or logistics coordination, preferably in the steel or manufacturing industry.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems and logistics management software.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Key Competencies:
Knowledge of steel products, market trends, and delivery processes.
Coordination skills to manage logistics and supply chain operations.
Customer-focused approach with a proactive mindset.
Team-oriented with excellent multitasking abilities.
