Advises and counsels students regarding academic, educational, social and emotional problems and challenges.
Provides feedback and recommend appropriate action and solutions to individual student's academic and educational needs and abilities.
Assists students/parents in understanding school policies and procedures.
Organize peer counselling programs.
Complete regular reports for services provided, such as session notes and incident reports.
Collaborate with teaching staff to determine how best to meet individual students' needs.
Work with school faculty and staff to develop plans for maintaining the well-being of individual students and of the student population as a whole.
Provide mental health and behavioural counselling to students.
REQUIREMENTS
Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology/Counselling/Guidance/ or Post Graduate diploma/Professional Degree in Counselling or equivalent.
Knowledge of multiple counselling approaches
Have a basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
At least 3 years of experience working as a school counselling
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Empathy and sensitivity to others needs
Strong interpersonal skills creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication
Professional counselling practitioners will be an advantage
Must have a valid licensed professional counsellor (Sijil Perakuan Pendaftaran & Sijil Peraturan Amalan)
