Job Description


Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy and Development:

  • Assist Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) to help develop, manage, and expand the supplier quality management system. This will include effectively helping to manage the Supplier Quality team whilst ensuring production and supplier quality management standards are maintained.
  • Assist SQM mentored site SQE and IQA team on critical and chronic materials quality problem solving and resolution.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve supplier quality operational performance.
  • Contribute to new business/new product initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Supplier Quality activities.
General and Task Management:
  • Lead supplier development strategy, designing the metrics for the function and supplier performance, Focus on critical direct materials like lead-frames, ceramic, substrate (DBC, AMB), tape and reel materials, mold compound, wire, solder paste, glass, press fit pin and etc. Drive and ensure Critical Direct Materials supplier with built-in quality from product development to mass production phases.
  • Lead supplier and their sub supplier\xe2\x80\x99s quality control and development to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
  • Work with Engineering (New product development, Process, Quality and Manufacturing Engineers) team to establish quality function deployment (QFD), construction analysis, defined process parameters validation and criterial to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise quickly and efficiently without compromising of quality and safety standards.
  • Partner with Global Commodity Managers in reducing cost of materials and components while maintaining a high sensitivity of quality.
  • Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
  • Support Purchasing with the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks (RoHS)
  • Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards.
  • Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues.
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
  • Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Where appropriate work with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures.
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Manage the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA\xe2\x80\x99s (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Review documentation of inspection results across all areas. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and material reliability/functional test status requirements defined by material product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval or product warrant submission (PSW).
  • Monitor and report on supplier product quality, change management (PCN) and performance understanding any commercial issues and impacts.
  • Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/Supplier Rating Performance (SPR).
  • Plan and lead quality audits for suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System (IATF16949/ISO9001).
  • Assist SQM conduct regular inspection meetings with site SQE and representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.
  • Develop monitoring systems and drive systematic quality improvements at suppliers through benchmarking and lessons learned fan-out.
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Prefer Master degree or Minimum Bachelor degree in Engineering, Materials science, physics or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in engineering, quality, supplier/subcon management or equivalent.
  • Good experience with APQP/DFMEA/PFMEA/Control Plan/PPAP/SPC/MSA/DFM/DFQ and QFD/Construction Analysis.
  • Preferably candidate with IATF16949/VDA 6.3 certified Lead Auditor.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics & drawings.
  • Knowledge of Process Certification/Process Robustness.
  • Solid analytic and articulation skills.
  • Solid experience on semiconductor and power module, sensor direct materials like leadframe, substrate (DBC, AMB), baseplate, mold compound, bonding wire, die attachment, glass, press fit pin and etc.
  • Preferably experience on high volume Semiconductor ATO Manufacturing/Process.
  • Strong time management / project management capabilities.
  • Mastery of Six Sigma methodologies
  • Willingness to take frequent travel and work with suppliers to lead and drive continuously quality improvement.
  • Passion for excellence with high integrity, commitment to quality, fluent in oral and written communications in English.
  • Good communication and writing in mandarin are preferred for local China supplier development.
Working Conditions
  • The job requires a person to work in normal shift and in any circumstances that work will be needed in regular evening and weekends as May required by specific job requests and urgency.
  • Ability to travel independently and resident at suppliers\xe2\x80\x99 factories in various location.

  • To be in good health and mental diathesis and be able to take challenging work.
