Job Description

JOB PURPOSEAs the Section Head of Data Management, you will collaborate with business and stakeholders to define a data management strategy, vision, and roadmap that aligns with organizational goals. You will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the BNM Data Management & Management Information Systems (DMMIS) framework and operating manual. Your leadership will extend to the creation and ongoing management of a data catalogue, data dictionary, and other data asset inventories. You will oversee the identification and appointment of data stewards across the organization and facilitate data governance meetings, working groups, and training programs to foster a data-centric culture. You will monitor and report on data quality, data usage, and other key data metrics, and develop and implement data security and privacy controls to ensure regulatory compliance. Providing guidance and support to business users on data-related issues and requests will be a key part of your role. Lastly, you will continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to the data governance program.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Managing the budget for data management projects and initiatives.

• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations related to data management (BNM DMMIS, DAMA-BOK)
• Ensuring the accuracy, quality, and security of customer data.
• Managing development and implementation of data management strategies that enhance customer service and satisfaction.
• Enforce data governance policies for the organization based on best practices.
• Collaborating with customers to understand their data needs and requirements.
• Providing support and training to customers on data management tools and practices.
• Excellence in leadership, communication skills, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Promoting sustainable data management practices that minimize environmental impact.
• Contributing to the data management community by sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Advocating for ethical data practices, including data privacy and security.
• Experienced in managing multiple business users, vendors and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding in Data Management Book of Knowledge.
• Strong understanding of data management concepts, principles, and best practices.
• Manage the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data management programs.
• Manage communication and experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating workshops/meetings.
• Familiarity with managing data quality frameworks, data security, and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data architecture, and data engineering concepts.
• Proficiency in using data governance tools and platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Aligning data management strategies with the organization\'s strategic goals.
• Manage the design and implementation of data management systems and processes.
• Collaborating with other teams to leverage data for operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
• Staying up to date with the latest data management best practices, technologies and trends and implementing them to maintain a competitive edge.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in data management or data governance or a related field.
• Experience in the financial sector is highly desirable.
• Experience in project management is desirable.
• Certified in Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA-CDMP) or equivalent is highly desirable.
