Malaysia Site Security Manager

(Project to Site Transition)

Overview:




Subject to the criticality of the MKS site and the requirements set forth in the Enterprise Protection of Company Assets Policy, Enterprise Procedure for Site Security, Site Security Manual, and other supplementary documentation, the Security Manager role may initially be assigned as a Project Security Manager (PSM) during the construction phase and transition into a Site Security Manager (SSM) once the facility becomes operational.

Phase 1: Project Security Manager Responsibilities




During the construction phase, the Security Manager will act as the

Project Security Manager (PSM)

and will be responsible for:

Managing all aspects of security projects including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution. Serving as the first point of contact for MKS Project Teams, vendors, and architects on all security-related matters. Working with stakeholders to deliver security solutions aligned with project needs and timelines. Supporting procurement of security systems and equipment. Managing installation teams and ensuring timely delivery of sub-projects. Maintaining project documentation and preparing status reports. Ensuring integration of electronic, physical, and procedural security systems with site infrastructure. Overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems including CCTV, access control, alarms, and visitor management systems. Establishing preliminary local security procedures in alignment with MKS Global Security standards.

Phase 2: Site Security Manager Responsibilities




Upon successful completion of construction and facility handover, the role transitions to

Site Security Manager (SSM)

. Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing day-to-day site security operations in accordance with MKS Global Security standards and local regulations. Ensuring layered security including: +

Electronic Security

- Managing CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Visitor Management.

Physical Security

- Fences, barriers, gates, locks, turnstiles.
+

Security Guard Services

- Managing site guard force, assignment instructions, and service vendors.
+

Security Procedures

- Developing site-specific procedures for access control, visitor management, incident reporting, and employee training.
Supporting Site Emergency Teams and participating in incident and crisis management. Conducting security self-assessments and facilitating Global Security audits.

Risk Assessment & Loss Prevention:

+ Perform routine risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities (e.g., theft, fraud, safety hazards).
+ Implement loss prevention strategies, including inventory audits and surveillance enhancements.
+ Monitor compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations across the premises.

Technology & Compliance:

+ Stay updated on advancements in security technology (e.g., AI surveillance, access control software).
+ Ensure compliance with local laws, labor regulations, and internal company policies.

Reporting & Support:



Reports to the Site Senior Leader (SSL) or Project Lead (PL), depending on phase. Must be able to be present at designated site(s) within 60-90 minutes (for SSM). Supported by MKS Global Security for best practices, crisis management, and compliance.
