The Safety & Security Manager role is to drive and maintain a culture of 'Safety First', and proactively provide leadership and guidance on security matters, policy and security risks within LLM Resort. You are to develop and maintain the Merlin & local security strategy to ensure a high standard safety and focus on creating a culture of safety first and ensuring that there is continuous improvement on these initiatives. You will be working closely with the team in achieving the departmental objective. You are expected to demonstrate high level of integrity, adopt transparency, be resourceful, decisive, quick thinking in problem solving and work independently.
You are expected to embrace the vision and values of the business to deliver highest standards of work performance and compliance. You will also be involved in planning and organizational assignments of HR projects and monitor the progress to ensure completion within deadline. You will be managing a set of HR team providing them the required support, motivation and leadership practices that aligned with the Merlin core values.
You will also be required to exemplify your best behavior to your team and work well with other team members in the department/organization and to carry out assignments that are delegated by your superior in a timely manner.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Hires, trains and supervises a team of Supervisors and Park Rangers/Security Officers/First Aiders and Medical Team.
Takes part of the resort duty management team.
Develop and train LLM's Emergency Response Team.
Responsible and accountable for LLM's security 24/7.
Responsible for training, development, performance management, team building, and other people management activities.
Develops departmental staff plan based on general budget guidelines. Promotes and demonstrates the Merlin and LEGO values and culture and through words and actions.
7. Responsible in all matters pertaining to the administering and maintaining of adequate and effective security.
8. Develop and maintain a pro-active loss prevention program designed to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and customers.
9. Develop, revise, and advise theme park's key personnel of emergency procedures to promote and cultivate safe work practices.
10. Review all security measures, procedures and methods frequently for protective and preventive purposes.
11. Maintain tight security control on the personnel that entering, exiting, or loitering around theme park and hotel.
12. Good relationship with police, fire department and local authorities on matters of vice, gambling, drugs, abuse, theft, robbery, death, etc., and other special security measures and requirements needed for special events.
13. Organize and conduct departmental safety committee meetings to enforce the safety program.
14. Coordinate and monitor for efficiency safety and security related programs for overall theme park, including lost and found process, auditing of issuance of locker keys, chemical, CPR, and Fire Preparedness training, evacuation drills, etc.
15. Handle all cases relating to unruly behavior by guests and employees as well as providing adequate services for crowd and traffic control.
16. Investigate all cases of accidents, fire, theft, etc., including all correspondence relating to those losses, accidents, locker and etc.
17. Conduct walk through observations of entire theme park.
Provides information, signs, posters, barriers and other materials to warn of potential or actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in safe work practices.
Secures facilities, equipment, assets and provides safety by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, and staffing access points. Prevents loss and damage by reporting irregularities; enforcing policy and procedures; and restricting access to trespassers.
Prepares incident reports for any losses or accidents, completes investigations by gathering evidence, conducting interviews, including taking statements, photographs, collecting documents, and coordinating with law enforcement personnel when appropriate.
Resolves emergency situations by coordinating with management, and directing actions
Establishes a plan for the on-site First Aid Facility and oversees the administration of the facility after park opening.
Ensures communication of group policies and programs and that MDs/Senior Managers is responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their Business units, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, ensure that risk assessments have been carried out and that safe working procedures are in place at all locations within their remits and that all staff under their management is aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it.
25. Advises management on measures to be taken against frauds, cheating and delinquent cases, etc.
26. Advise management on all security related issues
SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Managers are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001)
2. Managers must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that the employees in their team are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it.
3. Managers must ensure that safe working practices are monitored and risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly.
4. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
Background and Experience:
Preferable with heavy law enforcement or security related background with experience in managing security staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and management skills.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Proven success in managing safety and security issues in a theme park or similar environment.
Demonstrated success at formulating and executing safety and security plans.
Demonstrated experience overseeing safety initiatives and reducing risk in a theme park, high traffic hotel, retail or similar environment.
Prior success in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with insurance adjusters, brokers and legal firm to ensure effective risk management and proper handling of all claims.
Supervisory/management in security loss prevention.
Experience managing and reducing workers' compensation claims.
Possess basic computational ability and basic computer skills.
Extensive knowledge of the theme park and facilities.
Good working knowledge of constitutional, statutory and civil law.
Good First Aid and Security knowledge.
Widespread network with local and regional authorities.
Education:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with certification as a safety professional.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site, and interact with employees.
Ability to climb stairs to gain access to upper level of buildings.
Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
