LSEG Stock Exchange Daily Official List (SEDOL) Masterfile Data Analyst role is ritical to the growth and maintenance of the SEDOL Masterfile database (SMF) used for allocating SEDOL codes and associated reference data. SMF provides global reference data across all asset classes and markets, available to users via an on-line user interface or through data download files. Additionally, SMF provides fundamental information for trade & post-trade data management. This role will be part of a global team providing the operational support and expertise necessary to update and maintain SMF; and provide an outstanding level of customer support for the database users.
Key Responsibilities
Data validation\xe2\x80\x93including exchange websites, term sheets/prospectuses and data vendors, resulting in the creation or amending of securities data
First point of contact for customer requests and enquiries via telephone, email and on-line user interface
Processing customer requests within agreed timescales and to agreed quality standards
Provide user training, creating bespoke user guides and presentations where necessary
Analyses issues to identify the most appropriate solution. Utilises all available resources and skill-sets to investigate and resolve problems.
Qualifications and Skill Required
Minimum Bachelor\'s degree in Finance / Economics / Business
Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
Microsoft Office Advanced skills in Excel for manipulation of data.
Ability to work with multiple software applications simultaneously.
Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work with accuracy.
Able to interact with customers over telephone, email & face-to-face; possess great interpersonal skills.
Open to and willingly adopts new processes, approaches & ways of working. Proactively looks for and suggests ways to improve products and, processes or procedures resulting in increased revenues, procedure improvements and/or cost reduction.
Willingly puts in the effort to ensure activities are completed on time and to the quality level required. Pro-active and demonstrates initiative.
Demonstrates the knowledge and expertise within their field to have credibility with their peers. Manages expectations, maintains regular client contact to keep them informed.
Preferred knowledge
Knowledge and experience of the financial services industry.
Reference data knowledge covering a wide range of asset classes, global markets and corporate actions.
Knowledge of security identifiers and international standards.
Experience in operational environment with database maintenance.
This role is a 7-month contract.
