Introduction

For this role, we are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable oil and gas company operating in Malaysia.

This position plays a vital role in supporting welders, fitters, and riggers on fabrication and installation projects. Semi-skilled workers ensure smooth day-to-day operations by performing essential preparation, finishing, and alignment tasks that contribute directly to quality and safety in large-scale oil and gas projects.

Job Responsibilities

Perform grinding, touch-up, and surface finishing after welding. Support welders and fitters with alignment, preparation, and installation tasks. Handle basic material movement, tool preparation, and job-site housekeeping. Report daily duties, progress, and challenges to the supervisor and foreman. Ensure safe usage of hand tools and fabrication equipment. Follow project instructions and maintain compliance with workplace safety standards. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

Minimum

1 year of experience

in oil & gas, fabrication, or construction work. Basic knowledge of hand tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment. Strong teamwork and communication skills to support welders and fitters. Physically fit, safety-conscious, and reliable.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

Experience in structural steel fabrication or offshore fabrication work. Familiarity with welding processes and fitting alignment. Ability to read simple technical drawings or instructions. Previous exposure to oil & gas fabrication yard environments. Basic safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, CIDB, or equivalent).

Hourly rate:

RM12/hour with overtime opportunities. Standard working hours:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
