Job Description

Our client, a Malaysian company with businesses in Technology, F&B, Health & Wellness, Hospitality and Corporate Succession Planning, is looking for a Senior Account Executive, to join their team in Kuchai Lama.

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial compliance, preparing reports, and liaising with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The position may also involve supervising junior accounting staff.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger accounts, and bank reconciliations

- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing

- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and management accounts

- Monitor and oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions

- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other external parties for statutory submissions and reporting

- Review and guide the work of junior accounting staff

- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards (e.g., MFRS, MPERS)

- Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning activities

- Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounting and financial records

- Prepare and submit Sales & Service Tax (SST) returns

Requirements:

- Background in international school, education, or event-related industries

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

- 3-5 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance

- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SQL, AutoCount)

- Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and financial reporting standards

- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

- Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
