Job Description

The position will oversee the accounting functions for the Malaysia branch, including financial reporting, tax filling, and auditing processes. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial and tax records, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and company policies, and liaising with both local and HO accounting teams.

Key responsibilities:

Accounting & Tax:

Prepare and submit financial reports accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with Malaysian accounting regulations and standards.

Be responsible for organizing and maintaining the accounting document management system, including journal entries, ledgers, valid documents, monthly exchange rate data update and necessary reconciliations.

Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including issuing and tracking invoices sent to customers, and reconciling debts with vendors.

Prepare and submit tax reports to the tax authorities accurately and timely, including CIT, PIT, WHT 107(a), WHT 107(b) VAT/GST. Monitor and expedite WHT tax refund processes.

Assist in the budget planning of PVD Malaysia and report on its implementation status.

Assist in providing accounting documents and explaning to Tax inspection and audit teams.

Reconcile cash inflow, cash outflow and assets inventories.

Other requirement from PVD's Chief Accountant.

Payroll & employee claim processing:

Register Income Tax Numbers for crew members working in Malaysia.

Review payroll and prepare monthly Personal Income Tax (PIT) reports.

Prepare and submit Form E, Form M, Leaver Forms, and tax computations for all crew members working in Malaysia.

At year-end, collaborate with the HR department to verify the resident/non-resident status of crew members working in Malaysia. Monitor PIT payables and PIT refunds.

Reconcile the PIT amounts to be paid by comparing figures from the IRB system with those on the balance sheet.

Requirements:

3+ years' of professional accounting experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience

CPA preferred
