Manage the accurate recording and appropriate categorization of all transactions in the General Ledger.
Manage the accurate and timely execution of all financial closing activities (month-end, quarter-end, and year-end).
Assist in the preparation of the group's consolidated accounts.
2. General Ledger & Reconciliation
Manage the General Ledger, ensuring all journal entries are posted accurately.
Perform and review all necessary reconciliations, specifically bank accounts, intercompany balances, accruals, and prepayments.
Manage the fixed asset registers and ensure the proper validation of depreciation calculations.
Maintain the accuracy of accounting records by consistently monitoring and reconciling discrepancies.
3. Internal Controls & Audit
Develop and maintain all internal financial controls and procedures.
Coordinate all communication with internal auditors during the entire audit process.
4. Team Leadership & Support
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the accounting and finance team.
Review and approve the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's skills.
5. System & Process Improvement
Collaborate with various departments to enhance the efficiency of accounting and reporting protocols.
Assist in digitalization and automation initiatives to streamline and modernize finance operations.
Analyze and fix accounting system problems, and suggest solutions for enhancing established procedures.
Requirements:
1. Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
2. Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Audit firm experience is an added advantages.
3. Accounting Software
Proficient in Auto Count and UBS accounting software.
4. Soft skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
