KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Prepare SEB Power Group and SER Group monthly Management Reports, Profit Segmentation Reports, Dashboards, Government Reports, and comprehensive data analysis completely, timely, and accurately to provide data-driven insights and time-sensitive business and operational performance information for shaping strategic business decisions.
  • Prepare the quarterly Business Performance Appraisal pack and facilitate the Business Performance Appraisal sessions for SEB Power Group and SER Group.
  • Understand business requirements and translate them effectively into data management requirements.
  • Develop data management framework, implementation, and operation of data management to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data captured in the data warehouse via integration with various data sources.
  • Involve in data visualisation via dashboarding and infographics, business intelligence tools to report the organisational performance, and convey business insight with predictive analysis and forecasting to improve businesses.
  • Identify opportunities/areas of improvement, root causes of issues, and implement necessary operational changes (value creation and performance improvement projects) and deliver measurable improvements alongside other departments/functions to improve efficiency and productivity as well as enable the business to perform to its optimum ability and deliver value.
  • Work on the integration of information and performance management systems.
  • Ensure departmental goals and objectives are aligned with Sarawak Energy\'s Strategic Plan and related benchmarks by assisting in developing and revising performance measures and initiatives; tracking and monitoring performance measures via value management, and collecting and analysing performance data.
  • Design an effective internal control system and develop processes to monitor the effectiveness of risk management and internal control processes and remediate as necessary.
  • Monitor the internal control and process maintenance to safeguard assets of the Group including fixed assets, inventories, leased assets, receivables, and assets purchased with government funds/grants assuring all are in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Well versed in accounting standards, internal controls, and corporate governance and assisted in solving complex accounting issues, performed technical research on impact analysis and gap analysis in particular new accounting standards, new business activities, etc, and prepared for the presentation to management.
  • Involve in Enterprise Resource Planning (\xe2\x80\x9cERP\xe2\x80\x9d) and General Ledger (\xe2\x80\x9cGL\xe2\x80\x9d) systems implementation and upgrading.
  • Analyse the financial statements of competitors, customers, and contractors/suppliers and monitor trends over time to provide input to the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Analyse the impact of foreign operations on reported financial results, including foreign exchange transactions.
  • Provider technical accounting guidance and support in financial due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity investments or divestments, hedge accounting, and corporate restructuring.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and guide colleagues on how to maximise benefits and value creation.
  • Conduct training for ideas and knowledge sharing.
  • Discourage functional silos and promote an integrated approach to performance management.
SPECIAL ASPECTS/MAJOR CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure.
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Recognised degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of related experience in strategic planning, performance management, change management, or total quality management.
  • Preference would be given to members of the Chartered Global Management Accountant / Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (\xe2\x80\x9cCIMA\xe2\x80\x9d).
  • Six Sigma or other process improvement certification will be an added advantage.
SKILLS:
  • Technical, and operational skills and knowledge in the utilities industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of SAP Project System Module (PS), SAP Plant Maintenance Module (PM), SAP Financial & Control Module (FICO) and ISUCCS Module are advantages.
  • Knowledge and effective compliance with the latest Malaysian Financial Reporting Standard (MFRS), Tax Rulings, and Companies Act.
  • Strong business assessment methodologies and analytical skills in financial statements.
  • Strong business budgeting review skills.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for business, industry, and work processes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and skills in Microsoft Office application programs.
  • Internal and external customer relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills to cut through complexity.
  • Willingness to travel and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to work towards meeting tight deadlines, prioritise and handle multiple tasks at any one time.
