JOB DESCRIPTION

• Reporting to Senior Manager.
• Responsible for be overseeing all field operational activities for oil palm and fertigation related horticultural projects.
• Additionally, you will collaborate with the appropriate supervisors and foremen to make sure that the estate operates as efficiently as possible from planting through harvesting.
• To monitor day-to-day plantation operations and to identify problem areas and take corrective actions, ensuring operating expenses and profitability are maximized and annual target plantings/harvests are met.
• To ensure appropriate monitoring systems are put in place for all plantation tending tasks, such as general tractor work, spraying, weeding, trimming, harvesting, and slashing, as well as protection against fire and disease.
• To liaise with the plantation management team on management of fertigation scheduling and other irrigation duties, regular plantation pest and disease inspections, leaf and soil tests for plant nutrition and appropriate maintenance of plantation plant and equipment.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and devise contingency plans.
• To implement strategies, review and set triggers to ensure KPIs and objectives are met in respective divisions.
• Build relationship with key stakeholders and also local government and community around the estate.
• Inspecting the plantations and prepare submission written report after each visit detailing the state and conditions of all aspects of the estate together with necessary recommendation.
• Plan, organize, implement and control all operations and activities within the Estate according to the practice and guidelines provided by the Company.
• Provide effective leadership and motivation.
• To prepare necessary daily/weekly/monthly reports for presentation to Senior Manager.

• Candidates must possess a Diploma/Degree in Agriculture/Aquaculture/ Horticulture/ Plantations or equivalent.
• Candiate must be willing to work in Estate enviroment in Papua New Guinea
• At least 8 years of relevant working experience in Management position in the Oil Palm Plantation / Cash Crop Industry and development on peat soil land.
• Possess a high level of independence, integrity, self-motivation.
• Good command in English (Written and Spoken)
• Good health condition. Must be able to work in remote areas.
• Good sense of business acumen
• Result oriented with the drive to excel
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and leadership skill with good interpersonal skills.
