Duties and responsibilities Coffee and beverage consistency - a balanced cup standard Check on coffee quality from time to time; calibrate coffee if needed Ensure quality control over drinks, food, cakes and pastries especially presentation Shift lead Ensure a smooth running of the entire operation while on duty; kitchen, bar and floor Manage customer flow and satisfaction Guide juniors on daily tasks completion Professionalism towards customer service Maintain cafe cleanliness Ensure daily tasks is completed Maintain the harmony and cooperation between staff Ensuring tasks / duties are segregated averagely Stock and ordering Teas Cakes and pastries Milk Alternative milk Disposables Bottled drinks Shrub soda Other necessary outlet\'s items Initiative Repair and maintenance; change light bulbs, adjustment on shaky tables, etc. Share knowledge, tips, and skills with team members Fine tuning coffee knowledge Up to date with current and new news in specialty coffee Refining skills behind bar; enhancing speed while making drinks, etc. Being responsible at work Be punctual, inform PIC in advance if there\'s emergency or lateness Ensure completion of daily assigned tasks and execute completion of tasks in a clean and organized manner Be proactive; learn menu, company\'s products and coffee knowledge Be adaptable; able to handle new tasks on short notice Practice open-handedness; help team members when you can. E.g., Teach new skills, help finish their task etc. Self-care; well - rested, healthy, and focused while on shift Make headway for better practices and systems; there are always ways to improve processes and systems. Customer service Welcome and greet customers Provide friendly, professional, and great service Assist customers whenever and wherever necessary Always checking with customers; ensure they are enjoying their meals and drinks / experience Take proper and necessary action to correct any issues Learn how to deal with difficult situations, issues, and come out with solutions Be patient and calm throughout any ordeal while on shift Professionalism Have full knowledge of food and beverage menu Know the ingredients, preparation of food and beverage Have full coffee and brewing equipment knowledge; you are able to highlight the differences between different beans and items Educate customers about specialty coffee, beverage and food items Work smart, being observant and fast Prepare coffee and beverage Teamwork Team cooperation and management - Cooperate and communicate with colleagues to perform and complete all duties and tasks as an employee of this company Promote and upsell products Hygiene at work Maintain high standards of cleanliness of the entire shop (clean as you go) Sanitize and clean cups, plates, utensils, work areas and equipment Serve foods and drinks in a hygienic manner I nitiative Eager to learn about the ins and outs of managing floor service, bar and kitchen Have the ability to learn on the go Maintain inventory Replenish coffee bean supply Replenish supplies such as; cakes, pastries, bottles drinks, fruits, disposable items and etc. (chocolate, milk, disposables ) Replenish all other necessary outlet\'s items when needed Qualifications SPM or higher Experience/Knowledge High school diploma Associate\'s degree, diploma, or certification in Culinary Arts is advantageous. A food handler\'s license. Proven commercial kitchen experience. Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations. The ability to stand for extended periods. The ability to work under pressure. Excellent organizational skills. Effective communication skills. Educate customer and juniors on specialty coffee Answer questions regarding the history of the shop, specialty coffee, food items on the menu Sell coffee and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrate coffee brewing equipment Educate junior baristas on coffee knowledge, calibration, running service, and customer service Build relationship with customers
