Job Description

As Senior Chemist, the primary role is to lead advanced chemical analyses, develops and optimizes formulations, ensures compliance with standards, and provides technical guidance to support quality and R&D objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and execute appropriate test methods as per customer requirements and project objectives. Supervise and oversee daily testing activities, including verification of control checks performed by laboratory staff, to ensure accuracy and reliability of results. Ensure full compliance with the Laboratory Management System (ISO 17025 or equivalent) and promptly report any non-conformance to the Laboratory Manager for immediate action. Implement, monitor, and record corrective and preventive actions to address process deviations and maintain operational efficiency. Plan and conduct training programs for laboratory staff, including on-boarding for new hires and upskilling for existing team members, to ensure competency and adherence to lab standards. Actively participate in Proficiency Testing (PT) programs to validate testing accuracy and maintain continuous technical competency. Monitor and evaluate the performance of Laboratory Technicians, and Interns, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality work output. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, implement process improvements, and enhance testing efficiency. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all testing activities, ensuring traceability and compliance with company and regulatory standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory to optimize workflows, enhance quality, and support organizational goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's degree in chemistry or any related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in oil re-refinery or chemical industries. Familiar with lab analysis and data reporting. Experience in varies lab analysis testing eg. HPLC and GC. Good attitude, work ethic & hardworking responsible in work. Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia. Exposure to ISO 17025:2017 Lab Management System Registered Chemist by IKM with signatory approval level

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM4,800.00 per month
