Get to know the Role
Reporting to the Head of Service Management Office (SMO), this role will lead the Configuration Management practice for GTS. You will be responsible to build this practice and operating model from the ground up. The candidate we are looking for is someone with a strong background in infrastructure and application Configuration Management best practices and standards in heavily regulated industries.
The Day-to-Day Activities
Define, implement, and manage Configuration Management processes
Maintain data quality, integrity, and security of Configuration Management System (CMS)
Facilitate Configuration Management audits
Work closely with GTS leaders, technical teams, operations teams and project managers to plan, populate, and update CMDB
Gate keep and document all entry and exit governance criteria on every Configuration Item (CI) and ensure adequate due diligence is undertaken
Evaluate changes based on quality of information provided in Change Requests in relation to the CIs
Assist in major incident resolution for CMS-related issue, and work on problem managing until closure
Publish regular Configuration Management reports to stakeholders
The Must-Haves
10+ years experience in the IT industry, of which 3+ years focusing in Configuration Management
Experience with leading service management tools and the CMDB of each
Working knowledge of COBIT domains or related standards
Experience in managing communications to management & cross-functional teams
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and applying sound project management to assigned work
The Nice-to-Haves
IT service desk experience
Hands-on experience with RemedyForce CMDB
ITIL certifications
Service Transition (v3), or,
Operational Support and Analysis - OSA (v3), or,
Foundation (v4)
COBIT 5 Foundation
