Overview / Responsibilities: Wood is actively recruiting for a Senior Corrosion Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur on a permanent basis.
The role supports activities across a range of clients and projects on behalf of Wood.


Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:
  • Executing assigned scopes of work
  • The development, implementation and application of corrosion control strategies, performing materials and coating selection studies, development of corrosion management strategies and corrosion risk assessments
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to the team
  • Completing engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction
  • May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with
    small to medium complexity
  • Performs engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project.
  • Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations
    Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments having scope for co-ordination of difficult tasks

Skills / Qualifications: It takes a range of individuals to make up a diverse and flexible technical team. In this role we are looking for:
  • Degree qualified Engineer with at least 8 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience of materials and corrosion engineering in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to those in a wide range of organisation positions
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas processing
  • Good communicator
  • Comfortable facing Clients
  • Knowledge of current Best Industry Practice, Recommended Practice and relevant Standards
  • Capacity to understand complex problems and help identify practical and technically sound solutions
