Overview / Responsibilities: Wood is actively recruiting for a Senior Corrosion Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur on a permanent basis.
The role supports activities across a range of clients and projects on behalf of Wood.
Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:
- Executing assigned scopes of work
- The development, implementation and application of corrosion control strategies, performing materials and coating selection studies, development of corrosion management strategies and corrosion risk assessments
- Providing discipline expertise to the business
- Supporting and supervising task delegation to the team
- Completing engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction
- May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with
small to medium complexity - Performs engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project.
- Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations
Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments having scope for co-ordination of difficult tasks
- Be a strong communicator, who readily responds to clients needs and works together with our clients toward developing / maintaining strong effective working relationships
- Be highly motivated and self-sufficient, thriving on working autonomously within a wider supportive technical team
- Demonstrate agility, resilience and flexibility while dealing with a dynamically changing environment adapting to changing clients needs and internal operational priorities
- Value working with and contributing toward collaborative, flexible and respectful team environment
- Degree qualified Engineer with at least 8 years relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience of materials and corrosion engineering in the Oil and Gas industry
- Team player with good interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to those in a wide range of organisation positions
- Knowledge of Oil and Gas processing
- Good communicator
- Comfortable facing Clients
- Knowledge of current Best Industry Practice, Recommended Practice and relevant Standards
- Capacity to understand complex problems and help identify practical and technically sound solutions
