About the Role SWIFT is a member-owned cooperative that provides the communications platform, products and services to connect more than 10,000 banking organizations, securities institutions and corporate customers in 211 countries. As part of its Instant, Frictionless payments strategy, SWIFT is rapidly expanding its Data & Analytics capabilities to support our customers in this area of understanding payments.
In this context, the Data and Analytics tribe is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with excellent technical skills combined with a real sense of leadership and responsibility. Together with the team, you will have the opportunity to build the foundations of the new Data Management Platform (DMP).
The foundation squad, based in Kuala Lumpur (KL) and in HQ (BE), contributes to the DMP platform evolution. You will design, develop, test and deploy new features and components requested by the delivery teams. The foundation squad also has the responsibility to share best practices and expertise with the business squads.You will be responsible for the staffing of your chapter, act as a coach, building and developing your chapter members, understanding and identifying their development needs as well as organizing the resource allocation of chapter members to squads and orchestrate the performance of the chapter.As part of the engineering leadership, you will own and drive transversal initiatives to evolve and standardise engineering best practices across the tribe.In the agile context, you will also participate as xe2x80x98hands-onxe2x80x99 squad member to contribute to the success of a squad as well as to retain and grow your people manager as well as technical expertise.What to expect:Design, develop, test, install and support programs/systems. Support projects proposals on the basis of cost/benefit justification interfacing with stakeholders across functional and geographical lines.Meet with customers to understand needs and requirements and make recommendations on best practice systems solutions for small to medium size/complexity/risk projects.Analyze detail systems factors: input/output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, alternative approaches, etc.Validate alternative problem management proposals and make decisions on solutions.Provide technical assistance to other SWIFT colleagues and assist in resolving problems reported by less senior team members.Provide technical guidance to customers and act as mentor to less senior team members. May give presentations to management and customers.May prepare and complete systems documentation and operating procedures.May lead design review meetings for small to medium size/complexity/risk projects.May coordinate and monitor the activities, such as schedules and costs, of a small project team.Evaluate and recommend technical feasibility and estimates of the proposed systems solutions.What will make you successful?Qualifications:At least 5 to 10 + years of relevant experience in software development in an international setting.Proven experience in Data engineering and Software development practices.Technical Skills Requirements:Must have:Education and experience in programming languages and their design patterns (mainly Java, Python, Unix Shell scripting)Understanding of containerization technologies like Openshift and KubernetesExperience with massive object storage services (Amazon S3 storage or equivalent) is a plusSolid understanding of Data Engineering, data hub, data lake and data warehousing conceptsExperience in continuous integration/delivery build environment: GIT, Jenkins, Maven, Coverage and Static/Dynamic Code Analysis tools.Experience with Agile Tools (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Github)Good to have:Apache Data management tools (Spark, Kafka, NiFi, Airflow)Red Hat LinuxElasticsearch/Kibana and Oracle databases.Helm Charts / Infrastructure-as-code / TerraformExperience in handling PKI / TLSProfessional Skills Requirements:Creativity and innovationAdaptability and responsiveness to changeTake accountability for delivering resultsStrong communication skills, both written and oralTime management, planning and organizingAbility to work well in both a team and individual environmentQuality orientedEngaged and team orientedOpen communicationHas experience doing on-call supportWhat we offerWe give you the freedom to be yourself.
