Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Experience in

SQL Server, PostgreSQL

Administration. Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and related tools (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or cloud-native DBs). Monitor database performance and proactively identify bottlenecks or issues. Perform regular database backups, restorations, and disaster recovery planning. Implement and maintain database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions. Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies. Monitor capacity and plan for growth, ensuring scalability of database systems. Apply patches, service packs, and version upgrades while minimizing downtime. Support developers with database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting. Maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and policies. Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy regulations Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical production systems (if required).

REQUIREMENTS/CRITERIA:

At least 5 years' experience as a DBA or equivalent role. Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes. Windows and Linux Operating System. Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues. Implement automation for provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks. Manage virtualization technologies (

VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix

, etc.) Support cloud infrastructure (

AWS

) including compute, networking, and storage. Maintain patch management, updates, and upgrades for servers and infrastructure components. Collaborate with security teams to apply security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance controls.
