An exciting Senior DBA (MSSQL) job has just become available at a bank based in Kuala Lumpur. About the Senior DBA (MSSQL) Role:
In this role, you are responsible for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and conducting performance tuning of SQL Server. You will provide ongoing support and administration of MSSQL database. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade MSSQL databases. Establish standards and best practices for SQL server performance
- Monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints. Improve performance and efficiency of data storage for the organisation
- Administer existing enterprise databases by analysing, designing and creating new databases
- Conduct database backup and recovery strategies
- Set up and handle SQL server AlwaysON solution
- Be familiar with AlwaysON Read only routing
- Handle database security, roles and privileges
- Minimum of seven years of DBA experience and proficient in MSSQL database management
- Experienced setting up Master-Slave replication, Multi-Master replication, High Availability and disaster recovery in a production environment
- Experience with Maxscale HA proxy implementation
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL database and query performance tuning
- Knowledgeable in Unix command
- Able to work extended hours (shift rotation/be on standby)
