is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of purchased electronic components from global suppliers. This role focuses on
supplier qualification, performance improvement, and risk management
for key electronic parts such as passive components, ICs, and oscillators. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to develop supplier capabilities and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a technical lead for electronic components including passive components (capacitors, resistors, ferrite beads), ICs (DC/DC, PM IC), and oscillators.
Supplier Quality Management:
Evaluate, qualify, and audit suppliers to ensure compliance with corporate and industry standards.
Monitor supplier performance metrics (LAR, RPPM) and lead corrective/preventive actions (RCA, CAPA) for quality issues.
Supplier Development:
Drive initiatives to improve supplier yield, reliability, and delivery; conduct process qualifications and capability assessments.
Train suppliers in quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D, and Lean/Six Sigma.
Maintain and update the
electronic component database
to ensure accurate information.
Manage
Supplier Change Notifications (PCN)
and
End-of-Life (EoL)
processes; collaborate with R&D to qualify replacement parts.
Support cross-functional teams on supplier-related investigations, quality escalations, and continuous improvement projects.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in
Electronics, Electrical, or Materials Engineering
with at least
7 years of related experience
, or Master's degree with
5 years of experience
.
Proven experience in
supplier quality engineering
or
supplier development engineering
within electronics or semiconductor manufacturing.
Strong technical understanding of
electronic components
and manufacturing processes.
Skills & Competencies
Solid knowledge of industry standards such as
ISO9001, AEC-Q
,
MIL
, and
JEDEC
.
Skilled in quality methodologies:
8D, CoQ, FMEA, Six Sigma, and PDCA/Deming Cycle
.
Excellent
communication, negotiation, and project management
skills.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
; experience in
Power BI
or
Oracle Agile PLM
is an advantage.
Understanding of
PCBA
and
mechanical component processes
is a plus.
Fluent in both Mandarin and English
(spoken and written).
ASQ certifications (CSSGB, CSSBB, CSQP, or Reliability Engineer) are an added advantage.
