  • To coordinate the feasibility studies of new generation integration and Independent Power Producer (IPP) integration into the SEB grid system. i.e. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Ground Mounted and Floating Large-Scale Solar (LSS) System, Biomass, Cascading Power Source (CPS), potential CCGT in Kuching and Bintulu, and other potential system integrations.
  • To identify necessary transmission upgrades or expansions to support generation integration and IPP integration.
  • To assess IPP integration requests for compliance with grid standards and system requirements.
  • To communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including technical teams, executives, and external stakeholders when necessary.
  • To evaluate the planning & development study & system impact study of IPP grid integration study submission.
  • To assist and participate in all transmission-related studies such as impact studies, demand response / Management plans and Transmission Master Plan studies on the Sarawak Grid system.

  • Analytical Skills - The job requires significant analytical skills related to power system simulations, technical planning and troubleshooting.
  • Building effective teams - Blends people into teams, fosters team spirits and collaboration within team and capitalizes on the strengths of all members.
  • Decision making - Ensures that decisions are made based on good engineering judgment as well as ethics and values of the organization in a timely manner.
  • Financial analysis - Although technical, this job requires significant knowledge of financial analysis.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
  • Having an MSc/Meng in a related field and Professional Engineer is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience. Experience in the electrical utility or similar industry is essential.
  • Experience in power system analysis, network planning, power flow, short circuit, and transient stability analysis.
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
