KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provides technical consultancy to support resolving complex, rare or unpredicted plant upset issues (non-routine, non-standard) as needed to maintain safe and reliable operation.
• Analyse & interpret current & historical O&M data from various data source, understand design vs actual O&M data, explore improvement incorporating lesson learnt & industrial best practices.
• Coordinate in-house Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Technical Specialist (TS) with blend of expertise to provide integrated technical services to generation fleet.
• Establish and review Maintenance & Engineering policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, carry out technical audits & work with generation fleet owner to continuously improve operation & maintenance practices, promote proactive maintenance
• Standardizing of, and systematically documenting guidelines for, current work processes and practices to consolidate best practices for secure and reliable generation power system.
• Implementation of strategies and concepts of and requirements for, system measurement, monitoring, investigation, testing, and remedial measures to ensure reliability and security of generation power system.
• Provides review of all engineering, designs, commercial justifications, and part specifications for projects and modifications.
• Study and develop aggregated models the Generation Power System and its components necessary for use in grid studies and analysis.
• Witness and verify performance and parameter measurement and model validation tests are conducted in conformance to the guidelines and requirements for user connection to the Sarawak Grid System.
• Carry out the system impact studies for new user connection to the grid. Carry out generation fleet power system simulation & analysis
• Proactive managing project, getting involved in various stages of the projects including understanding of user requirements, selection of best-suited technical solutions, preparation of scope of work/technical specifications and execute sourcing & procurement processes when necessary.
• Inculcate best HSSE practices among staffs, contractors & service provider.
• Actively coach and mentor junior engineers and participate in the establishment of progression, development and continuous learning plans.
• Inculcates sense of responsibility and work commitment.
• To execute instruction given by the superior accordingly.

QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Possess a Degree in Engineering preferably in Electronic/Electrical/Power/Mechatronic discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of working experience in power station maintenance or other related industries.

SKILLS:

• Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles including delegation of work, training of subordinates, performance evaluation, discipline and hiring.
• Knowledge of Protection, Control and Instrumentation/Electrical/Power principles, methods, manufacturer\'s manuals, and standard procedures in the maintenance and repair of power station equipment.
• Knowledge of plant safety and accident prevention measures required for maintaining and repairing all power plant equipment.
• Knowledge of hydro & thermal power plant operation and its auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to analyze difficult and unusual technical issues or equipment / system problems.
• Ability to maintain, interpret and analyze operational records and data.
• Knowledge of computer skills and report writing.
• Knowledge of Grid Code, and Statutory requirements.

SPECIAL ASPECTS/MAJOR CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:

• Able and willing to travel frequently for extended duration to various power station across Sarawak. Candidate with minimum exposure to power station O&M experience will be based at power station
• Good knowledge of ISO Quality Management system, Computer Maintenance Management System (SAP), Generation Asset management Policy, and Contractor Management System.
• Business acumen on SEB Power, and SEB Group.
• To perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure.
• To perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines.
