is responsible for leading, managing, and supervising all technical and operational aspects of engineering projects -- from planning and design to implementation and completion. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management, and leadership skills to ensure high-quality, safe, and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and design documents.
Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine technical requirements.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams for project execution.
Ensure all designs, materials, and works comply with engineering standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Provide technical solutions and recommendations to resolve design or construction issues.
Oversee site operations and monitor progress to ensure quality assurance and adherence to project timelines.
Perform inspections and prepare detailed technical reports on project status and compliance.
Supervise, train, and guide junior engineers, technicians, and site staff.
Review and validate technical drawings prepared by junior engineers.
Foster teamwork and encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and material take-offs.
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage procurement processes and verify material specifications before approval.
Prepare engineering documentation including method statements, progress reports, and technical evaluations.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure proper document control.
Present updates and reports to management and clients periodically.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (depending on specialization).
Minimum
5-8 years of relevant experience
in project management or engineering operations.
Registered with
BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia)
is an added advantage.
Experience in supervising construction / M&E / infrastructure projects.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, or related design & project management software.
