KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Identify and make recommendations of strategic vendors for management including performing performance evaluation and assessing value levers impacting the selected vendors.
  • Establish and manage relationship with vendors selected, conducting effective discussions to drive performance delivery and identify value creation opportunities.
  • Identify and deal with the potential vendor performance risks to Sarawak Energy.
  • Analyze, interpret industry or market environment conditions including leveraging on network of strategic vendors and make recommendations.
  • Shares best practices and information across other procurement units or relevant business units.
  • Actively support or participate in the process of procurement and supply including negotiation with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Apply procurement governance and procedures that regulate post award, contracting and vendor management activities.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Management or related fields
  • At least 6 to 8 years of related experience in procurement or contract management.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Gather detailed information from a range of data, utilize market intelligence tools including engaging vendors directly to fully profile selected strategic vendors and make recommendation.
  • Work across business functional units to shape strategies based on vendor knowledge and their differentiated capabilities.
  • Coordinate and conduct vendor performance discussions across the portfolio including managing escalation with contract owners and other business functional units to enhance the vendor\'s performance and development.
  • Communicate, promote, influence and drive vendor\'s performance including reducing cost, enabling early vendor involvement in performance or supply risk management, or uncovering new sources of value for Sarawak Energy.
  • Engage, collaborate and manage internal stakeholders including senior management across business functional units to achieve deliverables.
  • Prepare, support development and execute negotiating strategies and tactics to create or retain value for the business.
  • Interpret standard contract provisions and defend basic challenges raised by internal and external parties and respond appropriately to common requests for deviation.
  • Comply, correctly interpret or coach others on procurement governance, policies and procedures regulating post award, contracting and vendor management.
  • Write and present a compelling business case.
THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES:
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure.
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines.
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
