Senior Facilities Engineer

Summary of the role:

Supervises the daily construction activities and operations of facilities department activities for facilities systems that are assigned such as space planning, construction, maintenance of equipment, machinery, building and other facilities.

Assists in developing overall property oversight.

Coordinates the allocation of building space, utilities, layout, communication services, facility expansion and energy efficiency.

Assists with the of design of facilities and for the selection of contractors / vendors.

Prioritizes and monitors progress on work being performed to ensure quality, schedule and budget are met.

Maintains Facility Departmental files which are not limited to: As built drawings, system handover documents, project submittals and transmittals, standard operating procedures, maintenance work orders,

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the day-to-day Facilities Construction and Operations to ensure construction complete on time, within budget and according to standards; smooth manufacturing operation, compliance to GMP, Malaysia\xe2\x80\x99s safety/environment standards and legislative regulations. (35%)

Assist in developing department budget and manage spending according to plan. (10 %)

Responsible for reviewing and approving specific documentation, procedures and site change control processes during construction and operation. (20%)

Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned. (10%)

Liaison with government authorities as required. (5%)

Develop standard operating procedures, maintenance plan (10%)

Support validation activities (10%)

Location:
Penang

Education:
Diploma or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil engineering.

Licenses/ Certifications:
Project Management

Experience:
More than 12 years of hands on experience in construction of facilities, operation and maintenance of facilities. Greenfield experience is added advantage.

Competences:
Greenfield construction; knowledge in design, construction, operation and maintenance of facilities mechanical systems, electrical systems, fire protection systems, clean room, building maintenance and security systems.

Physical Demands:
Able to inspect construction site daily starting from earthwork phase to building completion and beyond.
