KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Lead project economics analysis for capital investments (generation, network, rural electrification, strategic initiatives, etc.)
2. Execute investment evaluation, including initial assessment, business case development, financial and economic analysis with value assessment metrics (NPV, IRR, VIR, LCOE, etc.).
3. Understand and perform analysis of Corporate Modelling: oversight over medium to long term investment portfolio for scenario planning, credit rating (RAM, S&P, Moody, etc.), strategic risk assessment, funding purposes, valuation, etc.
4. Evaluate new investment proposal to support business expansion opportunities, sensitivity analysis in managing uncertainties and risks, peer benchmarking;
5. Support on Commercial Excellence KFA initiatives: Champion the economics module of SE02 & SE03 training program.

CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:

  • Keep abreast to the latest technology and development of future energy, conceptualise and integrate into project modelling.
  • Interpret complex and unstructured analysis for recommendation to the management in supporting value-based decision making.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with working knowledge in modelling and analysis, project or business planning.
  • Experience in utility business is an added advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Strong in business analysis, including capital investment appraisal techniques for setting strategic/ business plan and supporting decision making in the areas of strategic planning;
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities/ crisis through scenario analysis and create business cases to support the recommended proposal/ strategy;
  • Ability to use the appropriate functions in Microsoft Excel to carry out modelling for economic analysis, forecasting & reporting;
  • Ability to identify key financial, technical & economic factors impacting the analysis and analyse data for reasonableness;
  • Ability to interpret the meaning of analysis through application of value-based decision making to achieve Sarawak Energy\'s objectives and maximize value delivery;
  • Good business acumen & commercial background.

  • Strong verbal skills (oral & written) - Excellent communication and presentation skills.
