Job Title Senior Fund Accountant - Financial Reporting and Regulations



What will you do? * Responsible for the daily BAU process and working closely with Supervisor to ensure Financial Reporting and Regulatory Submissions delivered accurately and timely.

• Provide feedback on the BAU performance of Fund accountants to allow the Manager to conduct the necessary coaching/appraisal/discussion as required.
• Work with Manager/Supervisor to ensure all important information are cascaded to the team in team meetings.
• Perform review and ensure accuracy of the Financial Statements and Regulatory submissions are accurate .
• Work closely with Supervisor to ensure that a new team member will get the appropriate coaching to perform their daily BAU work as necessary.
• Communicates process/procedures changes and any issues/errors encountered , as and when it happens. Accountable to the accuracy and integrity of internal error log and identify trends for process improvements.
• Ensure the team meets all internal /external cut offs, escalate if in doubt immediately.
• Work closely with Supervisor/Manager to identify process improvement opportunities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have * Relevant operational knowledge and experience (2-3 years).

• Solid Funds industry experience/Fund Reporting.
• Proven experience in Funds Accounting/ Reporting environment.
• Previous analytical exposure is desirable.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to use initiative and excellent attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills and networking abilities with agents and internal departments and ability to work as part of a team to achieve collective goals.
• Good organisation skills, ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
• Funds Product Knowledge
• Financial Reporting /Regulatory knowledge
• As a guideline to ensure a reasonable time is spent in a role, you are expected to have at least 12 months of service in your current role for any lateral move
• Ability to work and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Independent, confident, self-motivating and able to work under pressure.

Nice-to-have * Accounting or business administration qualification desirable.

• Fund accounting system knowledge desirable:
• Multifonds, Bloomberg or equivalent applications
• Excel (Macro) and other Microsoft Office applications

RBC Investor & Treasury Services Malaysia is a processing center of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones. Malaysia is one of two operational processing hubs that supports Custody - Transaction Management; Settlements; NAV Production; Fund Reporting; Shareholder Services; Global Fund Platform Services; Data Service Delivery; Entitlements \xe2\x80\x93 income and corporate actions and Reconciliations. The country employs a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of our global operations, improve service quality via our \xe2\x80\x98centres of excellence\xe2\x80\x99 and to implement/leverage standard processes globally
