  • Determine the scope of hydrological studies, review the hydrological assessment, and conduct detailed hydrological modelling for hydro projects.
  • Lead the hydrometric field team for field hydrological assessment. To set the hydrometric team targets and goals for the year to assess their performance based on their tasks and targets.
  • Determine the scope of hydropower assessment, review the hydropower assessment and conduct hydropower energy modelling for hydropower plants and potential hydropower projects.
  • Advise the plant operation on the dispatch plan based on the forecasted inflows at each dam to ensure the optimum and safe operation of reservoir and hydro plants.
  • Update ISO 9001:2015 documentation for the Hydrometric Network System to maintain the certification.
  • Develop the scope of work, tender and implement procurement of hydrological instruments/assessment for hydropower projects.
  • Review contractor\'s and SEB staff JHA/JSA, lead, liaise and coordinate with contractors and Owner Engineer on adopted investigation work methods to ensure the safety at the project site.
THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):
  • Focusing and understanding the hydrological connectivity in river systems, incorporating climate change impacts, floodplain dynamics and water resources management.
  • Capability of integrating climate models to assess water resources availability, reliable hydrology forecasting & optimum operation.
  • Understand the Eco-Hydrological consequences of the interplay between hydrology, ecology and biodiversity changes and incorporate Hydropower Sustainability Standards and scopes.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):
  • A recognized degree in Civil Engineering or Hydrology or Water Engineering or equivalent related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in field hydrology.
  • Registered Graduate Engineer and qualified to register as a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
