Job Responsibilities Lead the bank\xe2\x80\x99s AML/CFT Surveillance Unit
Effectively manage AML/CFT Surveillance Unit to ensure the bank meets its regulatory responsibilities on anti-money laundering as set out by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)\xe2\x80\x99s regulations and any other relevant international bodies (i.e. Financial Action Task Force).
Lead a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts to ensure the team is operating effectively and efficiently in managing the transaction monitoring productivity, suspicious transaction reporting, cash threshold reporting and law enforcement agency orders.
Participate and involve in any ad-hoc projects / Compliance related matters.
Establish and update procedures on AML/CFT surveillance
Assist Head of AML/CFT to establish procedures applicable to AML/CFT surveillance processes e.g. transaction monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting, cash threshold, reporting, law enforcement agency (LEA) orders, etc.
Responsible to ensure the procedures remain relevant and up to date.
Manage transactions monitoring and reporting of suspicious transaction
Responsible for the unit\xe2\x80\x99s daily transaction monitoring activities for detection of suspicious transactions.
Responsible to plan the overall productivity and assign alerts to Analyst and Senior Analyst.
Monitor the productivity to ensure the overall alert aging does not exceed the pre-determined Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Responsible to review and concur the suspicious transactions recommended by Analyst, for approval by Head of AML/CFT and Chief Compliance Officer.
Submit the suspicious transaction to Financial Intelligence and Enforcement (FIED) of BNM via FINS.
Cash Threshold Reporting
Responsible for the overall identification and submission of transactions subjected to cash threshold reporting to FIED via FINS.
Manage orders from law enforcement agencies
Responsible to ensure orders received from LEAs are well coordinated and responded in a timely manner. This includes management of IFS / Mule listing received from PayNet or instruction received from National Anti-Financial Crime Centre (NFCC).
Liaise with LEA or regulator related to the orders and requests.
Ensure the information / document requested are provided within the stipulated time.
Report results of alerts reviewed
Responsible to collate AML/CFT related matters particularly statistical results on alerts review, STR, CTR and LEA orders for submission to Senior Management, Board of Directors as well as BNM.
Job Requirements
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Banking or any other related discipline from recognized university, or
Professional qualification preferably Certification in AML/CFT or any other related discipline from recognized body.
Minimum 7 years of experience in compliance-AML / internal control / audit / operation Risk management functions of an established financial service institution.
At least 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in supervisory role.
Sound knowledge of compliance and internal controls in financial services institution.
Familiar with the regulations / guidelines from BNM.
