Job Summary
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in enabling the success of the Micro Automation initiative by identifying automation opportunities, shaping use cases, and supporting delivery through structured analysis and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with operations teams, technology partners, and governance forums to ensure each use case is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the Data Management within CIB Ops.
Business
Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
Use Case Development & Analysis

  • Conduct process walkthroughs and identify micro automation opportunities across CIB Ops.
  • Document current state, pain points, and potential automation benefits.
  • Prepare use case templates for submission to the CIB AI Refinement Forum
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with operations teams to validate use case feasibility and readiness.
  • Support the Associate Director in socializing automation opportunities across functions and geographies.
  • Liaise with Finance and Tech teams to align on benefit tracking and delivery timelines
Governance & Documentation
  • Ensure use cases meet governance requirements including accountability, readiness, and funding eligibility
  • Maintain records of use case status, benefit realization, and platform deployment.
  • Support reporting and insights delivery for forums and senior stakeholders.
Execution Support
  • Assist the fusion squad in translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Track progress of automation waves and flag risks or blockers.
  • Contribute to platform governance activities including access control and versioning
Risk Management
The ability to interpret CIB processes and data, identifying opportunity for automation of processes and generation of key insights from data, whilst identifying key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
Governance
Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Hive's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls when delivering reporting and insights to business and operations, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications
  • 6-10 years of experience in business analysis, operations, or transformation roles.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with experience in process mapping and benefit quantification.
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Power Automate), productivity platforms (Excel, Outlook), and task mining techniques.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders across levels.

  • Analytical Mindset - Expertise in breaking down complex problems and providing data-backed solutions.
