Job Description


Role Responsibilities

Responsible for financial and regulatory reporting activities required for statutory, group and country financial reporting in respect of Standard Chartered Global Business Services Sdn Bhd with adherence to Group Accounting Policy, IFRS , MRFS , Malaysian Company Law , Malaysian Tax Law and other regulatory requirements eg BNM, Statistical Department and MDEC.

Responsibilities

Strategy

This role is to provide \xe2\x80\x98real time\xe2\x80\x99 support and analysis, to be trusted advisor and add value that will assist in decision making.

Business

Experience from other financial roles such as accountant and financial analyst is a basic start in the journey to becoming a finance business partner. In addition to this, one must have a vast knowledge of the business industry and have a range of skills.

Processes

  • Responsible for all group related reporting requirements monthly / quarterly and yearly inclusive but not limited to ICS (Intercompany System) / Pipeline and IFRS Packs
  • Responsible for regulatory reporting to BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia), MDEC and Department of Statistics
  • Key person in liaising with external auditors to ensure publication of full set financial statements on time.
  • Ensure all reporting standards, IFRS and Local Requirements are adhered to and extensive knowledge in MFRS and IFRS standards.
  • Drive month end closing tasks and deliverables ensuring financial integrity
  • Participate in continuous improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for budgetary activities within MOH / Property

  • Champion Continuous Improvement (CI) within the function.
  • Good eye for detail and with a strong focus on controls and compliance to Group\xe2\x80\x99s Policies and Standards.

  • Strong accounting knowledge (MFRS)
  • Advance knowledge in financial system eg: MS Office, SAP, Hyperion, Oracle, PeopleSoft etc
  • Project management
  • Possess a chartered accountant qualification (ACCA / CPA / ICAEW / CIMA etc)
  • Minimum 6 years of working experience within Finance functions with exposure to Financial Reporting ie preparation of financial statements
  • Experience in MNCs preferred
  • in using accounting systems and comfortable with excel spreadsheets
  • Performed variance analysis in previous roles
  • Dealt with auditors
Risk Management
  • Assist the CFO / FC, and the Unit Operation Risk Manager in identifying and managing key risk areas; ensure compliance and improve internal controls and financial processes for the Company. This includes building management and operational control awareness within Country Finance team and ensure applicable policies and procedures are documented and embedded in operating manuals and instructions
Governance
  • Support compliance initiatives relevant to the function.
  • Review and challenge remediation / treatment plan set by the function to effectively mitigate risks / remediate control weaknesses / issues
Regulatory & Business Conduct

Qualifications

Training, licenses, memberships and certifications
  • Degree qualified or completion of CMA/CPA/ACCA/MBA Finance
  • Minimum 6-10 years of working experience with strong knowledge in planning & budgeting
  • Experience in financial services industry will be added advantage.
  • Hands on approach and result oriented.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to succeed in a rapidly growing environment
  • Leadership/interpersonal skills/ management including organization skills, conflict management, time management and active listening skills.
