Job Description


Job Purpose: To assist Unit Head to closely monitor delinquent / non performing (NPL) and high risk loans with the participating Financial Institutions (FIs) under schemes managed by Syarikat Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP) by planning and implementing follow up / remedial action on such accounts to minimize delinquency, NPL and claims on government guarantee and facilitate accurate reporting to management and stakeholders Responsibilities: Assist Head to closely monitor loan portfolios of assigned FIs and their submission of their delinquency/NPL and legal action reports on a timely basis Assist Head to regularly review FIs scheme loans portfolio, reports as well as files and records of identified scheme loans with SJPP and to identify risk and trends to facilitate follow up / remedial action; Push FIs to intensify its monitoring and rehabilitation efforts by conducting frequent follow up with FIs on the high risk / delinquent / NPL scheme accounts which may include requesting for FIs reviews, updates and/or site visits and issuing written reminders to FIs. Assist Head to formulate and/or propose follow up / remedial action plans to minimize the delinquency / NPL and claims on the government guaranteed account. Lead and guide team members to effectively schedule and implement follow up/ action plans such as conducting site visits to identified customers, holding discussions and engagements with FIs to drive rehabilitation efforts where possible. Review and make recommendations on requests for restructuring/ rescheduling (R&R) and other credit related matters from FIs for the teams portfolio. Closely monitor R&R accounts (pre claim / post claim). Lead / conduct periodic audits of scheme accounts at FIs to check on FIs adherence to terms and conditions set out in Master Agreement and its supplementals between SJPP and FIs or SJPPs circular / guidelines to FIs and recommend remedial action where necessary. Review and make recommendations on FIs requests for restructuring/ rescheduling (R&R) and other credit related matters under teams portfolio. Assist team and departments achievement of all KPIs and to ensure self and teams adherence to Prokhas / SJPPs SOPs, policies. Establish rapport and effectively handle communication with FIs, including attending to FIs queries, conducting presentations and handle meetings with FIs representatives and customers. Prepare team reports & undertake any other assignment / work assigned by superiors Requirement: At least a Degree in any discipline but preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law or related discipline or professional qualifications At least 10 years credit / monitoring experience in a Corporate / Commercial Banking environment preferably with some exposure in legal, R&R, audit, managing a team and/or recovery work Personal Characteristics & Behaviours Effective interpersonal communication skills Good writing skills Good initiative, self-starter and self-motivated Good problem solving skills with matching business awareness Effective and good negotiation skills
