About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive

Senior MSSQL Administrator

to manage, optimize, and support our Microsoft SQL Server database environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in SQL Server architecture, high availability, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and automation. This role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of critical databases that power our business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and optimize

Microsoft SQL Server databases (2016, 2019, or later)

across production, development, and testing environments. Design, implement, and support

high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR)

solutions, including

Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, and Log Shipping

. Perform

database performance tuning

, query optimization, and index management to ensure optimal performance. Plan and execute

database patching, upgrades, migrations, and deployments

. Manage

backup and recovery

processes and test disaster recovery strategies. Monitor database performance, capacity, and health using SQL monitoring tools (e.g., SentryOne, SolarWinds, or native tools). Develop and maintain

automation scripts

for routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or similar tools. Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to ensure seamless data integration and support. Implement and maintain

database security standards

, including roles, permissions, encryption, and auditing. Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, standards, and procedures. Provide

24x7 on-call support

for critical database incidents when required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum

7-10 years of experience

in SQL Server database administration. Strong knowledge of

SQL Server internals, T-SQL scripting, and query optimization

. Proven experience with

HA/DR configurations

and

performance troubleshooting

in large-scale environments. Proficiency with

Windows Server administration

, Active Directory integration, and networking fundamentals. Experience with

cloud-based SQL services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server)

is an advantage. Familiarity with

SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS

preferred. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate / MCSE: Data Management and Analytics

certification preferred.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
