The Senior Physiotherapist is responsible for leading and providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with physical impairments, injuries, or movement dysfunctions. This role includes clinical assessment, treatment planning, supervision of junior physiotherapists, and ensuring adherence to professional standards and best practices. The Senior Physiotherapist also contributes to service development, patient education, and overall clinical excellence.
Clinical Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and rehabilitation programs.
Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with clinic policy and regulatory requirements.
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
Leadership & Supervision
Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and interns.
Oversee clinical operations to ensure efficiency and high standards of care.
Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Conduct training or in-service sessions for continuous professional development.
Administrative & Operational Support
Assist in developing and implementing clinic protocols and service improvements.
Support the management team in workflow planning, scheduling, and quality control.
Contribute to reporting, audits, and outcome evaluations.
Patient & Community Engagement
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and preventive care.
Participate in health talks, outreach, or corporate wellness activities when required.
Promote physiotherapy and wellness awareness within the community.
Requirements:
Education & Certification
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association (MPA) or relevant professional body.
Experience
Minimum 7 years and above of clinical experience, preferably in a multi-disciplinary or hospital-based setting.
Experience in musculoskeletal, sports, neurological, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred.
