Senior Process Engineer - Elastomer Materials & Bonding
Location:
Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah
Salary Range:
RM10,000 - RM12,000
We're Looking for a Senior Process Engineer (Malaysians Only)
Are you passionate about materials engineering and precision bonding processes? Join an innovative team driving advancements in elastomer technology and high-performance manufacturing.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and validation of elastomer material and bonding processes -- rubber-to-metal and rubber-to-plastic applications.
- Evaluate and select adhesives, primers, and elastomer compounds for optimal compatibility and performance.
- Develop advanced surface preparation protocols (cleaning, roughening, chemical or plasma treatments) to ensure reliable adhesion.
- Conduct mechanical testing and thermal/environmental studies to validate bonded assemblies.
- Support the transition from prototype to production, including documentation, tooling input, and operator training.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, design, and quality teams to deliver robust and repeatable processes.
- Perform root cause analyses for bonding failures and drive effective corrective actions.
- Ensure all processes meet industry standards (ASTM, ISO) and specific customer requirements.
- Stay ahead of the curve by tracking emerging technologies in elastomer materials, adhesives, and bonding innovations.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in elastomer material and bonding, or adhesive technologies -- preferably within automotive, aerospace, medical device, semiconductor, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Strong technical foundation in elastomer formulations (EPDM, NBR, FKM, silicone, etc.) and adhesive systems (epoxy, urethane, acrylic, etc.).
- Deep understanding of surface science, adhesion mechanisms, and process optimization tools (DOE, SPC).
- Skilled in mechanical testing, failure analysis, and interpreting complex data.
- Familiar with FMEA, control plans, and PPAP (especially in regulated environments).
- Experience in mold-in bonding, over-molding, or automated adhesive applications is highly desirable.
- Willingness to be based in Kulim Hi-Tech Park (Kedah) and
travel to the US when required.
Why Join Us?
- You'll be part of a forward-thinking engineering team shaping the next generation of elastomer bonding technologies -- where your technical expertise directly drives innovation, quality, and performance.
