Project Management Consultant (PMC)

You will be the key person managing design consultants, contractors and authorities to ensure projects are delivered
on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards
.
This role is ideal for an experienced civil/structural engineer who enjoys both technical coordination and overall project management.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Design Management
Act as the client's representative for overall project delivery from planning to handover
Coordinate and manage the work of architects, civil & structural, mechanical & electrical and other specialist consultants
Review and monitor design progress, ensuring alignment with client's requirements, budget and programme
Assist in design reviews, constructability checks and value engineering proposals
Planning, Programme & Progress Control
Develop and monitor overall project master programme and key milestones
Chair regular project and site coordination meetings; prepare and issue minutes of meeting and action lists
Track design and construction progress, identify delays and propose mitigation measures
Contracts, Cost & Documentation
Coordinate with QS / commercial teams on tender, award and contract administration matters
Review technical submissions, shop drawings and method statements from contractors
Assist in managing variation orders, extensions of time and claims from contractors from a project management perspective
Site Coordination & Quality
Liaise closely with the main contractor and site team to ensure works are carried out in accordance with design drawings, specifications and relevant codes
Monitor site quality, safety performance and compliance with statutory requirements
Support resolution of technical and coordination issues that arise during construction
Stakeholder & Authority Liaison
Coordinate with clients, operator/end-users and other stakeholders to manage expectations and requirements
Liaise with relevant authorities and utilities where required, together with the design team
Reporting
Prepare monthly project progress reports, risk registers and issue logs for the client
Highlight key risks, constraints and recommended actions to management and client representatives
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or related discipline
Minimum
7-10 years
relevant working experience in building / infrastructure projects, with at least several years in a project management or PMC role
Registered with BEM or equivalent professional body (or in progress) is an advantage
Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from concept, design, tender, construction to handover
Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary consultants and contractors
Good knowledge of construction contracts, programmes and project control
Proficient in MS Project or equivalent planning tools; good command of MS Office
Strong communication, coordination and report-writing skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia and/or Chinese is an advantage)
Able to work independently, manage multiple stakeholders and make practical, timely decisions
