Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager for Application Migration/Repatriation will lead strategic initiatives to transition enterprise applications to and from Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep expertise in Azure migration frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and delivery excellence to ensure secure, compliant, and cost-eAective cloud transformations.
Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in Azure focused application migration or repatriation. Strong understanding of Azure services (e.g., Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Monitor, Azure Policy). Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premise to cloud transitions. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, JIRA). Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models. Preferred Qualifications PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Experience with cost modelling and optimisation in Azure. Background in enterprise portfolio management or large-scale transformation programmes. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end planning and execution of application migration and repatriation projects involving Azure cloud services. Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to define migration strategies (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, re-architecting) and repatriation plans. Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations across multiple workstreams. Identify and mitigate risks related to cloud migration, including data integrity, performance, and compliance. Drive stakeholder communications, governance reporting, and executive updates. Ensure alignment with Azure best practices, including cost optimisation, scalability, and security. Oversee post-migration validation, rollback planning, and operational handover.
