Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic Risk and Compliance initiatives within Client Head Office. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role will be responsible for managing complex, cross-functional projects that support regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and governance enhancements. The role will manage 2-3 projects within the Risk and Compliance Portfolio, whilst the exact projects remain TBC the current portfolio list includes:

• A migration, centralization and outsourcing of AML services from 2 Business Units
• Development of Client's eGRC system (Regulatory Compliance & Risk/Control functionality improvements)

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and strategic priorities.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage and manage senior stakeholders across business units, compliance, legal, IT, and external partners.
• Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, manage budgets, resources, timelines, and ensure successful delivery within scope.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring proactive resolution and escalation where necessary.
• Governance & Reporting: Maintain robust project governance, produce regular status reports, and present updates to steering committees and executive leadership.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior project managers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within Financial Services.
• Proven track record in delivering business (not Technology, engineering or construction) projects. Experience of Risk, Compliance, or Regulatory projects would be ideal but not a pre-requisite
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. We are looking for the right 'fit' as much as experience.
• Experience working in a regional or global matrix environment is a plus.
