Technical Sales engineer role with a MNC industrial piping company

As an Industrial Sales Engineer specialising in Water Treatment and Chemical Processes, your primary responsibilities will be to expand our market share, acquire new customers, and support our existing sales team. You\'ll play a crucial role in increasing brand awareness and driving growth in the non-Microelectronics sectors. Here are the key tasks you\'ll be involved in:

  • Market Expansion: Focus on expanding market share with existing customers, particularly in Industrial product portfolio.
  • Customer Acquisition: Identify and acquire new customers, with a particular emphasis on Water Treatment (WT) and Chemical Process (CPI) OEMs, EPCs, and end-users in the industry and public sectors (excluding Microelectronics).
  • Sales Support: Provide customer-facing sales support, leveraging your product and application knowledge in Water Treatment and Chemical Processes for non-Microelectronics industries.
  • Product Improvement: Collaborate with Product Management to identify product gaps and develop compelling business cases for improvements.
  • Brand Awareness: Increase brand awareness of company\'s product range for Water Treatment and Chemical Processes in non-Microelectronics markets.
  • Sales Tracking: Manage offers, projects, and sales tracking for Water Treatment and Chemical Processes in non-Microelectronics markets.
  • Lead Identification: Identify new leads and opportunities for market expansion through customer visits, product training, and specification for projects.
  • Key Accounts Management: Manage key accounts for Water Treatment and Chemical Process customers.
  • Growth Strategies: Support and implement company\'s key growth strategies in the Water Treatment and Chemical Processes sector.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the inside sales team on pre-sales and post-sales activities.

  • Educational Background: A degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Automation/Process) or related fields is required. Professional qualifications in Sales & Marketing are advantageous.
  • Experience: You should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in sales with technical knowledge in industrial applications, particularly in water treatment and chemical processes.
  • Sales Expertise: A clear understanding of overall sales cycles, especially project-based sales, is essential.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings and designs.
  • Independence: Capable of working independently and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: A collaborative team player who can work effectively with colleagues.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively, including East Malaysia.
