About the Role We are looking for an experienced Java Software Development Engineer to join our Swift\'s On-Premises tribe. Our tribe develops On-Premises applications that connects businesses to financial networks.Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be working as a member of a dynamic team that is responsible for end-to-end delivery - from customer engagement to operations.As a driving force of technological change, the On-Premises tribe operates in a truly agile way. You will have a unique opportunity to expand your reach in terms of knowledge and network, and to build your expertise through Swift\'s global platform.About the roleYou would be working as a Senior Software Engineer in the AU-NPP Customer Footprint team. This team manages the critical on-premises components of the New Payments Platform (NPP), which is an industry-wide real-time payments platform for Australia.
Together with the team, you would work closely with the Product Owner, the Business Analyst, and the other business stakeholders to continuously deliver new features and maintain the product.What to expect?To work within an agile development team and be accountable for analyzing business requirements and provide sound technical solution.To design, develop, test, install and support programs/systems in line with agreed requirements. Quality is part of everything you do.You will design and implement integration and automated tests.To develop user documentation, prepare and give presentations to other team members, management and customers.You will provide timing/scheduling estimates to the Product Owner and propose corrective actions to timelines when vital.You will work collaboratively with other team members and provide mentorship to more junior squad members.You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with solutions delivery peers and other delivery partners.What will make you successful?University degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar fields.5 to 7 years of software development experience preferably in a multi-national/multi-cultural environment.Solid programming/coding experience with Java 8 or newer, Spring Framework, Spring Boot.Practical experience of Linux OS (RedHat Enterprise Linux).Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD principles and related tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Jira etc. or other similar tools) and techniques.Ability to work in an Agile environment that requires a high degree of adaptability.Ability to collaborate with teams operating in other time-zones (APAC, EU, and US).Strong written and verbal (English) communications, strong social skills and customer centric demeanor.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in understanding very complex situations and dependencies.Eagerness to learn and to stay up to date with the latest technologies.Things that could improve your chances furtherKnowledge of C++ or some prior experience with it would be a huge plus.Having knowledge/experience of Containerization concepts and technologies: Docker, OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.Having knowledge/experience of public cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure & GCP) and overall knowledge of cloud and surrounding concepts and techniques.Having knowledge/experience of Apache Kafka.Having knowledge/experience of Swift Messaging formats, especially ISO20022.You may like to know the team better by knowing the people in the team.
